Job Title: Senior Event Manager

Package: £40,000 - £45,000
Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent role
Location: Sandown Park Racecourse (covering Epsom & Kempton Park too)
Reports to: Group Hospitality Operations Manager

As a market leader in horse racing hospitality, Jockey Club Experiences creates unforgettable moments at some of the UK’s most iconic racecourses, including Cheltenham, Aintree, Epsom Downs, and Newmarket.
The Purpose
As Senior Event Manager, you'll play a leading role in delivering our premium hospitality portfolio across some of the UK's most iconic racecourses.
- Oversee the planning, commercial performance, and delivery of a diverse portfolio of raceday events, ensuring every experience is delivered to the highest standard.
- Work closely with Sales, Marketing, Finance, venue partners, and suppliers.
- Drive operational excellence, support revenue growth, and lead, develop, and inspire a high-performing events team.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced event professional who combines strong commercial awareness with exceptional attention to detail and a passion for creating unforgettable guest experiences.
You’ll Be Doing
Leading Event Delivery
- Manage a portfolio of premium hospitality events from planning through to on-site delivery and post-event review.
- Ensure all events are commercially viable, operationally ready, and delivered to an exceptional standard.
- Act as the key point of contact for venues, caterers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
- Lead event-day operations and provide hands-on support to ensure a seamless guest experience.

Driving Commercial Success
- Support the development and enhancement of our hospitality products and guest experiences.
- Work closely with Sales and Marketing teams to ensure products are successfully launched, promoted, and sold.
- Manage event budgets and support profitability across your event portfolio.
- Identify opportunities to improve customer experience, maximise revenue, and drive continuous improvement.
Planning & Operational Excellence
- Oversee event timelines, ticketing requirements, seating plans, and supplier management.
- Ensure hospitality packages, event information, and operational processes are accurately maintained.
- Manage risk and ensure compliance with health and safety standards and company procedures.
- Support the development of best practice processes across the events function.
Leadership & Team Development
- Lead, coach, and develop Event Managers and wider event teams.
- Create a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Conduct regular one-to-ones, providing guidance and supporting professional development.
- Work closely with senior stakeholders to contribute to business objectives and operational strategy.
You’ll Have
- Proven experience managing large-scale events within hospitality, sports, entertainment, or live event environments.
- Experience leading, coaching, and developing successful teams.
- Strong commercial awareness, including budget management and delivering against financial targets.
- Experience working with multiple venues, suppliers, and stakeholders to deliver high-quality events.
- Excellent planning, organisational, and project management skills.
- The ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends in line with the race day event calendar.
