Applications are reviewed by a real person on our team, and every interview is conducted by a real person(s). We believe every candidate deserves an authentic, respectful hiring experience.

Job Purpose

The Senior Event Manager is responsible for leading the successful delivery of client events, exhibitions and experiential projects from brief through to completion.

Working closely with clients, suppliers and internal teams, the role will manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring exceptional delivery, strong client relationships and effective project management throughout the event lifecycle.

This is a hands-on, client-facing position requiring strong organisational skills, commercial awareness and the ability to manage complex projects in a fast-paced agency environment.

The successful candidate will act as a trusted partner to clients whilst supporting the wider Events & Exhibitions team through collaboration, knowledge sharing and delivery excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end delivery of multiple events, exhibitions, and experiential projects from initial brief through to successful completion, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor throughout the project lifecycle and managing stakeholder expectations effectively
  • Translate client objectives into innovative event solutions and delivery plans that achieve agreed business outcomes
  • Develop and manage project timelines, critical paths, governance documentation, and reporting to ensure effective project control
  • Coordinate internal teams, suppliers, venues, and external partners to ensure seamless project execution
  • Oversee all event logistics, including venue management, accommodation, travel, production, and operational requirements
  • Lead onsite event and exhibition delivery in the UK and internationally, ensuring exceptional client and attendee experiences
  • Identify, assess, and manage project risks, issues, dependencies, and change requests, implementing appropriate mitigation strategies
  • Create, manage, and reconcile project budgets, ensuring strong financial control and alignment with commercial objectives
  • Monitor project profitability, forecasting, and financial performance, proactively identifying risks, efficiencies, and cost-saving opportunities
  • Source, negotiate, brief, and manage suppliers and event partners, ensuring quality delivery, compliance, and value for money
  • Ensure supplier contracts, quotations, insurance, risk assessments, and compliance documentation are secured and maintained as required
  • Support resource planning across projects, including freelancer engagement, workload balancing, and capacity management
  • Mentor and support Event Executives and junior team members, sharing best practices and contributing to a collaborative, high-performing team culture
  • Contribute to new business activity through proposal development, costings, pitch support, and identifying opportunities for account growth
  • Drive operational excellence by ensuring compliance with company processes, health and safety requirements, sustainability initiatives, project close-out activities, and continuous improvement practices
  • Other responsibilities as needed

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
