ROLE OVERVIEW

We’re looking for a Senior Event Operations Manager to lead and drive the successful delivery of our live events. You'll own operational planning and execution across multiple venues, ensuring every show runs smoothly, safely and consistently while supporting the continued growth of the business.

This role suits someone who takes real pride in their work and spots what needs doing before being asked. You'll be a proactive problem-solver who thrives on responsibility, makes confident decisions and brings both energy and precision to everything you do. This isn't a role for someone who waits to be directed, it's for someone who leads, cares and makes things happen.

You'll also spend time at some of the shows because the best operations leaders stay close to the experience they're delivering. Seeing your events firsthand allows you to coach teams, identify improvements and continually raise standards across the region.

SUCCESS IN THIS ROLE

Success in this role will be measured through event quality, operational consistency, team leadership, staffing performance, wise budget management, positive guest feedback and the ability to support the region's continued growth.

We're looking for someone who takes ownership, thinks commercially and makes things happen.

You'll be comfortable building processes from scratch, leading a team, solving problems under pressure and finding ways to make the operation better every day for the benefit of our business and customers.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Operational Leadership: Own UK event operations, standards and day to day delivery across multiple venues.
  • Event Delivery: Oversee planning, execution and post-event reviews, ensuring consistently high standards.
  • People Leadership: Lead, coach and develop Operational and Event Managers and wider operational teams.
  • Training & Standards: Lead weekend team recruitment, onboarding and ongoing training for Event Managers and Assistants. Build and maintain up-to-date training resources, playbooks and manager toolkits.
  • Health & Safety: Own operational compliance, risk assessments, safety procedures and incident management.
  • Venue Management: Build strong venue relationships and oversee operational planning, access and requirements.
  • Supplier Management: Manage key suppliers, negotiate effectively and maintain high service standards.
  • Processes & Operational Standards: Develop and standardise processes across all shows to drive consistency, reduce ambiguity and improve efficiency.
  • Budget Management: Own operational budgets, monitor costs and identify opportunities to improve profitability.
  • Field Presence & Quality Control: Attend a minimum of two shows per month, with additional event attendance as needed during training, launches and peak periods.
  • Reporting & Continuous Improvement: Deliver post-event reports, analyse KPIs and customer feedback and proactively propose improvements to keep Lumos ahead of industry trends.
  • Special Event & Venue Preparation: Coordinate venue-specific requirements including permits, vendor sourcing, local compliance requirements, and operational planning for unique or non-traditional event spaces.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
