Senior Event Technician (Audio)

Primary Function

We are seeking a Senior Events Technician with strengths in Audio workflows, in London to work with the Production team, based onsite with our client who is one of the world’s leading technology companies. This role is responsible for working within a team of Technical AV Specialists and Senior Technicians to deliver end-to-end event production, including technical coordination, studio operations, DAW tasks, presentation support, AV/VC services, streaming, and event management.

The ideal candidate should have a high technical background with an advanced understanding of audio systems, specifically Solid State Logic (SSL) including the System T console. Experience of Digital Audio Workflows (Pro Tools) is also required for this position. The candidate also requires experience of successfully planning and delivering events, with strong problem solving skills, and exposure to audio-visual systems with the ability to train/act as a mentor to junior colleagues.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Responsible, along with other Technicians and Specialists for the successful planning and delivery of event requests, held within the clients fully equipped event spaces
• Perform an audio Mix for live-streams & broadcasts to a high standard
• Acts as the audio SME, providing expert operation of installed SSL consoles, including the SSL System T and SSL L100, within the clients fully equipped event spaces for the successful delivery of event requests
• Able to operate (or willingness to learn) other event audio-visual systems as required, including but not limited to Sony MLS X1, Sony RCP 1500 & ETC Ion lighting desks
• Mentors and coaches a team of technicians in collaboration with the Lead Technical Director
• Diagnostic and troubleshooting AV equipment when and where necessary
• Responsible for regular maintenance and deployment of audio equipment
• Escalate equipment failures to appropriate inhouse teams and assists with the resolution as needed to maintain service levels
• Ensure SOPs are created and applied, and that contingency planning is included in event support
• Communicates effectively to explain our services to technical and non-technical clients as needed
• Is involved in, or owns, special projects or assignments as outlined by the leadership team and executes them within the given timeline
• Collaborate with inhouse teams on R&D efforts, identifying ways in which we can improve quality of output, efficiency through automation/tooling and process improvements
• Create SOP documents, completing detailed event reporting as well as utilising internal systems
• Own the technical support lifecycle and is responsible for managing technical risks throughout pre-production planning, execution and post event
• Oversees all audio operations in regards to the studio, including the deployment of microphones, managing and backing up all audio recordings, and editing the final mix for delivery, working closely with our editing department
• Consistently delivers high-quality service to our partners
• Adheres to broadcast standards for remote and recorded attendees
• Assists with training of new members of staff and improving their overall technical proficiency
• Leveraging AI systems to enhance technical output
• Understands how to communicate difficult/sensitive information tactfully
• Collaborates with the wider Dreamtek community to facilitate knowledge sharing
• Performs other ad hoc duties as required by the business
