What You Would Get To Do

The Senior Event Technology Manager leads the strategy, implementation, and management of event technology solutions across virtual, hybrid, and in-person programs. This role consults with clients on best practices, advises on user experience, and oversees the development of registration platforms, event apps, and related digital tools. They provide leadership and support to the Event Technology team, ensuring seamless execution from pre-event planning through onsite delivery, while managing vendor relationships and staying ahead of emerging trends.

Your Contributions

Event Technology Management

  • Consult with clients on Event Technology best practices and platforms recommendations
  • Keep up-to-date on all emerging technologies, popular culture, and trends and ensure team members are kept informed as well
  • Advise and support Event Technology team members for all things Event Tech including pre-event and on-site support during execution
  • Advise on user experience of all pre-event and onsite registration for both virtual and in-person events
  • Implementation and project management of event registration websites, app builds, and all technological aspects of our events
  • Management of room blocks and coordination with hotels
  • Database Management: ensure consistency of information and generating lists upon request
  • Manage client event communications such as save-the-dates, invitations, registration, confirmations, etc.
  • Reporting (response rates / new implications) and analytics and surveys
  • Print name badges, tent cards, place cards, departure notices, email confirmations, etc. where appropriate.
  • Manage relationships with technology suppliers

Team Management

  • Manage, develop, mentor, and provide feedback to direct reports on an on-going basis
  • Oversee workload of team ensuring day-to-day understanding of capacity/pressure points and assisting/offering guidance on events where required
  • Responsible for workflow and capacity management; flagging when scalable resources are needed
  • Manage PTO schedules, coordinate team presence in office to ensure ample coverage, and review all T&E reports
  • Provide input/feedback on big picture opportunities, issues, and challenges within the organization
  • Manage and promote communications to all team members to ensure maximum efficiency
  • Be aware of and manage any problems or issues which negatively affect productivity
  • Partner with FIRST People & Culture team and/or VP, Event Technology on all company initiatives, recruiting, and employee relations matters
  • Lead and motivate the team to work efficiently
  • Ensure the team is providing value for money to clients and seeking value adds where possible
  • Encourage and motivate the team to be knowledgeable of best practices and be proactive with ideas and creative solutions
  • Ensure team adheres to standard operating procedures and compliance processes in addition to maintaining comprehensive event files and keeping precise records to ensure smooth transition between team members if necessary
  • Lead the team by example encouraging a happy and positive atmosphere

What We Are Looking For

  • 8-10 years’ related experience in Data Management and Event Technology including entry level meeting planning and coordination
  • Expert knowledge of Cvent is required
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel
  • Strong proficiency with registration website platforms such as Splash, Certain, Aventri, Eventbrite, or other registration website platforms
  • Experience with virtual meeting and event platforms such as GlobalMeet / TalkPoint, Zoom, WebEx, SpotMe, Concise Chime, Inconf, vFairs, or other virtual meeting and event platforms
  • Experience with on-demand badge printing, RFID, session scanning, and lead generation
  • Experience in integrating customer relationship management software, such as Marketo, Salesforce, Dealcloud with event registration management systems such as Cvent
  • Proficient programming skills such as computer coding (HTML, CSS, and/or JavaScript)
  • Highly motivated, able to work independently
  • Exhibit strong work ethic, patience, and a winning attitude
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Flexible and willing to work outside normal business hours (evenings, weekends) and travel when required
