This role can be based out of London or Gibraltar.

We are looking for an experienced Head of Events / Senior Events Manager to lead the strategy and delivery of Peninsula’s event programme, setting the direction, standards and governance that ensure consistently exceptional client experiences.

Events are a critical component of Peninsula’s relationship management activities. You’ll work with senior stakeholders across the business and run a commercially disciplined, well-controlled portfolio that strengthens engagement, enhances Peninsula’s reputation and supports the company’s broader business objectives.

The successful candidate will bring strong strategic judgement, operational excellence, stakeholder management capabilities and experience delivering a premium events programme within a fast-paced, global environment.

Main Responsibilities

  • Own the events strategy and annual programme, aligned to business objectives and company priorities, client needs and brand positioning
  • Establish portfolio planning, prioritisation and delivery cadence, ensuring clear objectives, audiences, success measures and plans for each event
  • Lead, coach and develop the Events Manager / Coordinator, setting objectives, managing performance and building capability / succession
  • Provide senior oversight for flagship events, driving high production standards, clear workstream accountability and stakeholder alignment
  • Own events governance, risk and compliance controls, timelines, communications and measurement frameworks from concept through to post-event evaluation
  • Own financial oversight for assigned events, including budget development, vendor procurement, contract negotiation, expense management, reconciliation and post-event reporting
  • Identify opportunities for innovation, scalability and continuous improvement, incorporating stakeholder feedback and evolving client expectations

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Essential:

  • Extensive experience leading premium, relationship focused event programmes
  • Proven leadership capability, including driving high performance culture, coaching and team development
  • Strong strategic planning and portfolio management skills, with the ability to set standards and deliver at pace across multiple priorities
  • Demonstrable senior stakeholder partnering and influencing skills
  • Experience in growing hybrid event portfolio

Desirable

  • Experience of influencing local stakeholders (non-events) to facilitate successful events
