Senior Executive Assistant - Head of Banking Europe and Americas, Corporate and Institutional Banking
We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Senior Executive Assistant - Head of Banking Europe and Americas, Corporate and Institutional Banking
This role keeps senior decision-making moving by protecting time, maintaining pace across a high volume of requests and ensuring priorities land well in a time-pressured environment. You’ll manage complex diaries, inboxes and travel while coordinating closely with partners across the Chief Operating Office and Communications for longer-term engagement planning. Success looks like clean execution, calm handling of shifting priorities and consistently well-prepared engagements where the Executive has what they need in advance.
In this role you’ll:
- Act as a gatekeeper for the Executive, balancing accessibility with protection from unnecessary interruptions
- Manage a high-volume inbox, responding where appropriate and escalating urgent items quickly
- Oversee complex diary management, resolving scheduling conflicts and anticipating meeting requirements
- Maintain a forward-looking calendar, freeing up time for key projects and initiatives
- Coordinate long-term travel and engagement planning with the Chief Operating Office and Communications
- Arrange complex travel itineraries, managing timing and cost within HSBC policies
- Organise meetings end-to-end, collating papers and agendas and preparing briefing notes for key engagements
- Handle delegated system approvals and transactions, maintaining confidentiality and strong attention to detail

To be successful in this role you’ll meet the following requirements:
- It is essential to have substantial experience supporting ExCo Executives on a 1 to 1 basis
- You MUST experience of working in a complex international, enterprise level (FTSE 250) organisation
- Demonstrate strong diary and inbox management skills, including prioritising competing demands under pressure
- Show established experience coordinating complex travel planning and booking
- Apply excellent organisational and time management skills, using initiative to anticipate needs and resolve issues
- Communicate clearly in writing and verbally with senior stakeholders and partners across the business
- Build effective working relationships across leadership teams and wider Executive Assistant networks
- Navigate confidential information and delegated approvals with care and accuracy
