About the role
This role sits within the Marketing and Communications team and is responsible for delivering key membership marketing campaigns and journeys across acquisition, engagement, retention, and progression.
Working closely with colleagues across Membership, Marketing, and Communications, the role will take ownership of campaigns from planning through to execution, optimisation, and reporting. This includes developing targeted and relevant communications, managing marketing automation and segmentation, analysing performance, and using insight to continually improve the member experience and campaign results.
Reporting to the Head of Membership Marketing, this is a hands-on role for someone who is commercially and analytically minded, confident managing multiple projects, and comfortable working with stakeholders at all levels. The successful candidate will be expected to take ownership of their campaigns, bring ideas and recommendations to the table, and use data and testing to improve performance.
It provides an opportunity to play a key role in growing and retaining CIBSE's membership, while developing expertise across lifecycle marketing, marketing automation, campaign strategy, and digital communications. You will be part of an ambitious and supportive team that values collaboration, continuous improvement, and a test-and-learn approach.
What you will do
- Own and deliver end-to-end membership campaigns, across acquisition, retention, engagement, and progression, from planning through to execution, optimisation, and reporting.
- Take ownership of key member journeys and lifecycle communications (e.g., onboarding, upgrade pathways, retention lifecycle).
- Deliver campaigns across both B2C and B2B audiences, adapting campaign objectives, messaging, channels, and customer journeys to reflect the needs and behaviours of different audiences.
- Manage and optimise marketing automation programmes in Salesforce/Pardot.
- Lead the development and optimisation of segmented email campaigns and newsletters.
- Analyse campaign performance and provide reporting, including actionable insights, recommendations, and applying course correct where required.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align campaigns with organisational priorities.
- Support the development of campaign strategy and messaging frameworks.
- Brief and manage internal/external resources (design, content, digital).
- Ensure consistency in brand, tone of voice, and messaging across all membership communications.
- Contribute to testing strategies (A/B testing, audience segmentation, content optimisation).

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
