Reports to: Senior Manager, PR

Function: Commercial Function (CUK)

Department: P&O Cruises PR Department (CUK)

Role Summary

The Senior Executive, PR supports the delivery of P&O Cruises' public relations, media engagement, influencer activity, press trips, and events programmes. The role develops compelling stories and press materials, supports creative PR campaigns and brand activations, manages media and influencer engagement, and contributes to performance reporting, budget administration, and press office activities to maximise brand exposure and support commercial objectives.

Key Accountabilities

  • Develop news-led stories, press releases, media materials, pitch documents, photo captions, and other communications that support business priorities and drive positive media coverage.
  • Maintain media and influencer relationships, using strong news sense to proactively identify opportunities that maximise brand awareness and exposure.
  • Support the planning and execution of PR campaigns, influencer activity, media events, ship visits, filming projects, trade media engagement, and brand partnership activations, including the Food Hero programme.
  • Lead the planning, coordination, and delivery of press trips and experiential activations with shipboard and shoreside teams, agencies, and external partners.
  • Coordinate schedules, logistics, assets, and stakeholder communications to support smooth delivery of campaigns, events, and activations.
  • Monitor, analyse, and report on PR performance, influencer activity, media coverage, event outcomes, and ROI, while managing budgets, purchase orders, invoices, spend tracking, and monthly reporting.

Essential Minimum Qualifications

No essential qualifications.

Essential Experience Required

  • Strong news sense, with exceptional writing and news-writing skills and excellent attention to detail.
  • Previous PR industry experience, either in-house or agency side, with a PR background preferred over a purely journalism background.
  • Understanding of digital and traditional PR, social media, influencers, and their role in the marketing mix.
  • Experience managing media and influencer relationships, with travel media contacts or influencer agency contacts beneficial.
  • Experience supporting high-profile events and engaging effectively with media, stakeholders, and external audiences.
  • Ability to work to strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment, with an agile approach to changing workloads and priorities.
  • Strong organisational and multitasking skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and with external partners.
  • Understanding of PR performance monitoring, analysis, reporting, and alignment with commercial objectives.
  • Budgeting and cost management experience.
  • Competency with Microsoft Office products.
