Our purpose is to make it easy for people to save and invest for a better future. We are looking for great people to join us, so please come and invest in YOUR future at Hargreaves Lansdown.

We know that sometimes people can be put off applying for a job if they don't tick every box. If you're excited about working for us and have most of the skills or experience we're looking for, please go ahead and apply. We’d love to hear from you!

About the role

We’re seeking a Senior Experience Designer to craft end-to-end design solutions that blend strategic thinking with hands-on delivery. Working across multiple squads and products, you’ll be a cross-functional, full-stack designer who brings vision to life through scalable systems and innovative, user-centric experiences.

In this role, you'll independently lead large, complex design challenges—shaping product and service experiences that deliver measurable value. By aligning user needs with business goals, you'll influence direction, improve outcomes, and contribute directly to organisational success.

You’ll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders, embedding design as a core lever for transformation and innovation. Drawing on your expertise across UX, UI, content, research, and service design, you'll elevate the quality, accessibility, and impact of design while validating solutions through testing and iteration.

As an experienced Designer within the team, you’ll drive knowledge sharing, champion best practices, and support governance standards. You’ll also mentor peers and junior designers—contributing to a high-performing, inclusive design culture that thrives on continuous growth and shared success.

What you’ll be doing

  • Leading experience design across multiple projects, crafting holistic design solutions that integrate UX, UI, content, and service design layers
  • Creating detailed user flows, prototypes, high-fidelity UIs, and test plans that align to the experience design strategy and vision
  • Designing inclusive, accessible interfaces for end-to-end experiences across responsive web and native platforms
  • Writing and testing UX copy, content flows, and microinteractions
  • Collaborating with product managers and engineers for QA and implementation support
  • Innovating with new features that enhance the client experience, reflecting industry best practice and latest trends
  • Presenting designs through storytelling, advocating a client-first mindset to senior stakeholders and influencing high-level decisions
  • Partnering with researchers and product leads to analyse user feedback and metrics, validate and iterate solutions to inform design direction
  • Setting the bar for design standards across the team, embedding best practices, user-centred thinking and empathy
  • Mentoring junior researchers and contribute to team capability development and shaping the team culture

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
