Head of FM & Soft Landings – Science & Innovation Campus (Cambridgeshire)

12 Month - FTC

Our client is a leading consultancy practice who are working with one of the world's leading science and innovation campuses, currently undergoing significant expansion.

We're seeking an experienced Facilities Management and Soft Landings professional to act as operational lead and trusted advisor across a growing mixed-use estate - spanning laboratories, offices, amenity, retail, leisure and shared campus infrastructure.

Reporting into the client's senior Estates & Facilities leadership, you'll work alongside the campus expansion development team to ensure operational requirements, lifecycle considerations, commercial objectives and occupier experience are embedded throughout design, construction, commissioning and handover.

What you'll bring:

  • A strong track record leading Soft Landings / operational readiness on new-build or refurbishment projects, ideally within life sciences, research, higher education, campus or science park settings
  • Deep understanding of commissioning, mobilisation, training, handover and post-occupancy optimisation
  • Confidence challenging design and construction teams to secure operational excellence and whole-life value
  • Strong commercial acumen - experience negotiating management/operating agreements, leases and service contracts, plus a solid grasp of service charge structures and budgeting
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills across developers, consultants, operators and senior leadership
