Senior Facilities Officer

Dulverton, Somerset

About Us

Exmoor National Park is a unique and beautiful part of the country. Our vision is that Exmoor remains a beautiful landscape, leading the response to climate change and nature recovery, a welcoming place for all, as well as a great place to live, work and do business.

We are now looking for a Senior Facilities Officer to join us on a fixed-term contract for 2.5 years. This is a full-time role, although part-time working will also be considered.

The Role

As a Senior Facilities Officer, you will provide operational leadership for the Authority's facilities function, ensuring our buildings, public facilities, vehicles and associated services remain safe, compliant, well maintained and fit for purpose.

You'll co-ordinate and prioritise facilities activities across our diverse estate, managing the Facilities team and contractors whilst ensuring statutory compliance requirements are effectively delivered and monitored.

Helping to maintain high standards across the Authority, you'll ensure facilities are well presented, vehicles remain safe and available for staff, statutory records are maintained and our buildings continue to deliver best value, efficiency and carbon targets.

About You

To be considered as our Senior Facilities Officer, you will need:

  • Experience of supervising or managing a facilities management team
  • Experience appointing, managing and evaluating contractors
  • Proven experience applying health and safety legislation across facilities management, including asbestos, Legionella, PAT testing and ladder inspections
  • In-depth knowledge of facilities management across a wide range of services, equipment, materials and repairs
  • Knowledge of the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 and building construction and maintenance
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Good IT skills
  • A full driving licence
  • IOSH Managing Safely or an equivalent practical health and safety qualification, such as Legionella, asbestos or fire safety management
