ABOUT THE ROLE
The post holder will be responsible for the procurement, preparation, maintenance, asset management, support and development of computing equipment, software and peripherals that support taught modules and research projects. They will also deliver demonstrations and training sessions to staff and student groups with information of a highly specialist nature.
Teaching support for Computer Science has focus on the following key subject areas:
- Programming and Software Development
- Networks and Network Security
- Cyber Security and Digital Forensics
- Machine Learning\Deep Learning\Artificial Intelligence
- Cloud Computing\Virtualisation\Containerisation
- Games Development
- Big Data and Information Sciences
As this is a senior role, candidates for the post should have and be able to display experience and in-depth knowledge of one or more of the subject areas above.

ABOUT THE TEAM
Based at the Newcastle City Campus, the Faculty IT & Research Support Team (FIRST) is a dedicated group of Research Technical Professionals, Research Software Engineers and IT Professionals that design, develop, implement and support specialist IT solutions for teaching and research across the Faculty of Science & Environment.
ABOUT YOU
To be successful in the role you will be proactive and enthusiastic with excellent team working and communication skills. Some experience of customer service is required and an interest in technology both hardware and software is essential.
