Senior Failure Analysis Engineer – Electronics

Anker Innovations · Cardiff, UK · Full-time · Onsite

About Anker Innovations

Anker Innovations is a global leader in smart charging and consumer electronics, home to Anker, eufy, Soundcore, and Nebula. Founded in 2011, we serve 100+ countries, 140M+ users, hold 1400+ patents, and 50% of our 4000+ employees are in R&D.

The Role

We're looking for a Senior Failure Analysis Engineer – Electronics to lead root-cause investigation of returned electronic/electrical products (RMA) across our global portfolio. You'll diagnose complex hardware failures at board, circuit, and component level — and translate findings into improvements in design, manufacturing, and component quality, while helping build our AI-enabled diagnostic capabilities.

What You'll Do

  • Own RMA failure analysis from initial diagnosis through root-cause identification and closure
  • Perform board-, circuit-, and component-level troubleshooting using functional testing, signal/waveform analysis, and electrical characterization
  • Diagnose power architecture failures: Buck/Boost converters, LDOs, PMUs, SoCs, charging ICs
  • Troubleshoot digital interfaces/protocols: I2C, SPI, I2S, PCIe, UART, CAN
  • Use oscilloscopes, multimeters, electronic loads, logic analyzers, CAN tools, X-ray, and thermal imaging to identify electrical, soldering, EMC, ESD, and component failures
  • Apply structured root-cause methods (8D, 5 Whys, FTA, Fishbone, DOE); recommend corrective and preventive actions
  • Collaborate with R&D, Quality, Manufacturing, and Supplier Quality globally
  • Produce standardized English failure analysis reports; build failure case libraries and diagnostic standards
  • Support AI-enabled diagnostic tools by translating failure patterns into structured knowledge

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
