Senior Failure Analysis Engineer – Mechanical

Anker Innovations · Cardiff, UK · Full-time · Onsite

About Anker Innovations

Anker Innovations is a global leader in smart charging and consumer electronics, home to the brands Anker, eufy, Soundcore, and Nebula. Founded in 2011, we serve 100+ countries, 140M+ users, and hold 1400+ patents — with 50% of our 4000+ employees in R&D.

The Role

We're looking for a Senior Failure Analysis Engineer – Mechanical to lead root-cause investigation of returned products (RMA), focused on mechanical, structural, and materials failures across our global portfolio. You'll turn complex failure diagnosis into concrete improvements in design, manufacturing, and component quality — and help build our AI-enabled failure analysis knowledge base.

What You'll Do

  • Own RMA failure analysis from initial diagnosis through root-cause identification and closure
  • Perform product teardown and component-level diagnostics; investigate mechanical design, manufacturing, assembly, materials, sealing, and environmental/usage failures
  • Use dimensional & tolerance analysis, stress/fatigue analysis, leak/sealing testing, fracture analysis, metallography, non-destructive testing (NDT), and SEM/EDS
  • Apply structured root-cause methods (8D, 5 Whys, FTA, Fishbone, DOE) to distinguish design vs. manufacturing vs. material vs. use-related causes
  • Collaborate with R&D, Quality, Manufacturing, and Supplier Quality globally to drive corrective and preventive actions
  • Produce standardized English failure analysis reports; build failure case libraries, root-cause databases, and diagnostic standards
  • Support development of AI-enabled diagnostic tools by translating failure expertise into structured rules and knowledge

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
