Senior Family First Partnership Officer

Dudley Metropolitan Borough Council

Fixed Term until 31st March 2029

This is an exciting leadership opportunity to support the Family First and Early Help Strategy.

We expect this role to develop over the life of the Family First programme and we welcome your existing knowledge, skills and experience in shaping our service to provide early wraparound support for families at the earliest point of need and those who work with them to ensure all children get the best start in life!

Hours: Full Time 37 hours

Salary: £42,839 - £46,142 Grade 10

As Senior Family First Partnership Officer, you will:

  • Strengthen operational leadership capacity and operational oversight within the Families First Partnership Service. This position is fundamental in leading, managing and coordinating the work of a team of Families First Partnership Officers.
  • Ensure the consistent delivery of high-quality Early Support to children, young people and families with emerging needs to children and families who have multiple and/or complex needs Family Help (Targeted).
  • Provide dedicated management of frontline staff, improve the quality and consistency of family assessments and family plans, and enhance partnership working across agencies.
  • Support and improve, information sharing across services for early identification of need, assessment and service provision to support the wellbeing of children and to keep children safe.
  • Lead and strengthen effective multi-agency and multidisciplinary working to reduce the need for statutory intervention. By ensuring a coordinated approach across services, the role will support families to access the right help at the right time, in line with the Continuum of Help and Support Pathway, enabling needs to be identified and addressed at the earliest opportunity.
  • Be experienced, knowledgeable, motivated and able to work with our integrated partners and local communities to achieve best outcomes for children and families. A practitioner who can build and sustain effective relationships is essential.
