Senior Designer

Department: Design
Location: Manchester
Reports To: Design Director

Overview

The Senior Designer will play a key role in shaping Daisy Street’s reimagined creative vision. You will create innovative and trend-driven collections, sourcing fabrics, and ensuring each piece embodies the brand’s values of inclusivity and originality. Make a lasting impact on a brand shaping the next era of fashion.

Key Responsibilities

Creative Leadership

  • Translate the brand’s vision into cohesive, trend-driven collections for our audience.
  • Mentor junior designers, fostering a collaborative creative environment.

Fashion Design

  • Design and develop seasonal collections, from initial concepts to final samples, aligned with our aesthetic and market trends.
  • Source and select fabrics, trims, and other materials for quality and innovation.
  • Create detailed technical sketches and work closely with pattern makers and manufacturers to bring designs to life.

Trend Forecasting

  • Stay ahead of fashion trends, researching colours, materials, and silhouettes to keep the brand ahead.
  • Analyse consumer behaviour and competitor activities to inform design decisions.

Strategic Collaboration

  • Work with the Design Director and Creative Director to refine and expand the brand’s visual and design language.
  • Partner with merchandising, tech and production teams to ensure designs are feasible and meet business goals.

Fast-Paced Execution

  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects and deadlines efficiently.
  • Respond quickly to market demands and pivot designs as needed to stay relevant.

Quality Assurance

  • Ensure all designs meet the highest standards of quality, fit, and brand consistency.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design or a related field.
  • 5+ years of professional fashion design experience, with a strong portfolio showcasing fabric expertise and trend-driven collections.
  • Extensive knowledge of fabrics, textile technologies, and materials.
  • Strong technical skills, including proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and CAD software.
  • Excellent understanding of garment construction and production processes.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
  • Proven ability to work under pressure, manage multiple projects, and meet tight deadlines.
  • Passion for sustainability, inclusivity, and pushing creative boundaries.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience working with global supply chains and manufacturing practices.
  • Knowledge of emerging design technologies, such as 3D modelling and digital sampling.
