Senior Field Application Engineer, International Programs

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Field Application Engineer, International Programs based in the United Kingdom.

This role offers the opportunity to support advanced technology deployments by bridging engineering expertise, customer needs, and complex system integrations. You will work at the forefront of wireless communication solutions, helping customers successfully integrate, test, and optimize sophisticated systems across international programs. As a key technical partner, you will collaborate with engineering, sales, operations, and program teams to solve challenges and deliver reliable solutions. This position is ideal for an experienced engineer who enjoys hands-on problem solving, customer interaction, and translating technical requirements into practical outcomes. You will play a critical role in improving product performance, supporting mission-critical applications, and driving successful technology adoption in a global environment.

Accountabilities

  • Support international programs by leading system integration activities, fielding efforts, testing procedures, and technical solution delivery.
  • Integrate complex hardware and software systems to meet customer requirements and ensure successful deployment.
  • Maintain expert knowledge of products and technologies to understand customer needs, develop solutions, and strengthen technical relationships.
  • Design and execute test plans, methodologies, validation procedures, and technical reports to confirm integration success.
  • Analyze system performance, troubleshoot technical issues, and conduct root cause analysis in collaboration with engineering and product teams.
  • Communicate integration progress, technical challenges, risks, and recommended solutions to internal stakeholders and leadership.
  • Work closely with customers and end users to provide technical guidance, training, and support throughout implementation.
  • Develop technical documentation, integration strategies, and user-facing materials that clearly explain complex systems and processes.
  • Provide technical input for responses to RFIs, RFPs, and other customer requirements.
  • Deliver product updates, firmware improvements, and technical recommendations to customers and internal teams.
  • Coordinate integration activities to ensure solutions meet program requirements, deadlines, and quality standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related technical field is preferred.
  • Proven experience in field application engineering, systems integration, technical consulting, or a similar customer-facing engineering role.
  • Strong knowledge of RF communications, wireless networking, network systems, and/or Mobile Ad Hoc Networks (MANET).
  • Experience with data collection, technical analysis, troubleshooting, and system performance evaluation.
  • Solid understanding of wireless technologies, mobile IP, RF propagation, hardware and software concepts, and system architecture.
  • Knowledge of networking concepts including IP routing, switching, VPN architectures, and network design principles.
  • Experience working directly with customers, end users, and cross-functional technical teams.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time to support international programs and customer activities.
  • Experience with programming languages such as Python, C, C++, or Java is considered an advantage.
  • Familiarity with technical tools such as Wireshark, MATLAB, RF mapping and planning tools, or similar engineering platforms is a plus.
  • Relevant certifications such as Network+, Security+, CCNA, or CWNA are advantageous.
  • Experience with cybersecurity, defense technology, information operations, or secure communications environments is preferred.
  • Active security clearance eligibility or equivalent experience in regulated environments is a plus.
