Job Title: Senior Field Application Scientist-Luminex and Immunoassays
As a Field Application Scientist, you will provide scientific expertise; applications support and training to customers on Thermo Fisher Scientific’s Antibodies, Immunoassays and Luminex Assay & Instrument Portfolio.
This may include in-person, phone, email and/or video communications. A Field Application Scientist will partner with sales reps in the field to deliver product line-specific, pre-, and post-sales-related customer support activities, and solve customer escalations effectively. Also, you will act as a trusted expert to our customers, thereby increasing customer satisfaction and loyalty and contributing to the overall success of the business. The area of responsibility is the EMEA region.
Key responsibilities:
- Performs instrument and workflow demonstration, installations, and training on relevant products at customer or company locations
- Applies in-depth scientific and product expertise to complete assignments of diverse scope and support a variety of customer inquiries
- Proactively contributes to the strategic development of innovative plans, models, standards, and techniques
- Independently addresses issues of increased complexity for customers and internal partners
- Able to determine individual priorities and help set strategic objectives of the team
- Provides training and helps coach and mentor team members
- Prepares and presents seminars to a wide array of audiences
- Partners with regional and global teams to support the organization in the achievement of the regional commercial, service, and support goals
- Solves customer escalations effectively through in-depth troubleshooting
- Remains up to date with product and state-of-the-art scientific know-how
- Works in line with our support & service competencies, processes, and company values
- Facilitates distributor FAS capabilities through training, coaching, and knowledge transfer, fostering ownership and self-sufficiency.

Experience/Qualifications/Qualities:
- Ph.D. or Master in Cell Biology or Immunology and relevant experience
- Several years of experience working with laboratory techniques; cell separation, flow cytometry, cell culture, immuno assays
- Experience of working with human tissue and whole blood
- Proven understanding of immuno assay and preferably Luminex workflows and working in a cGMP environment
- Experience in presenting technical materials in written and verbal form
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot technical problems
- Strong communication skills
- Fluent in English and at least one other European language (Italian, Spanish, German, or French)
- Demonstrated ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical reports
- Able to travel throughout Europe, Middle East, and Africa territory (up to 80% travel)
- Living close (max. 1h driving) from a big international airport
