Senior Field Engineer - Power Program Management

Position Overview

An established engineering, consulting, and technical services organization supporting the power and energy industry is seeking a Senior Field Engineer to support a large-scale behind-the-meter microgrid project serving a hyperscale data center campus.

This position serves as the program team's primary on-site representative during construction, integrated commissioning, and energization activities. The individual will provide field oversight, monitor project execution, identify emerging risks, and communicate progress and issues to program leadership. This is an owner's representative/oversight role and does not include directing contractor means and methods, safety programs, or construction personnel.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide daily field oversight of substation, battery energy storage, microgrid, and power generation facility construction and commissioning activities.
  • Monitor project progress and identify schedule, quality, and interface risks.
  • Witness and track commissioning activities in accordance with approved testing and commissioning plans.
  • Support energization activities, factory acceptance test follow-through, control system integration, black start testing, and functional performance testing.
  • Assess readiness for key project milestones and commissioning-related submissions.
  • Coordinate field interfaces among EPC contractors, equipment suppliers, and parallel project teams.
  • Review contractor-reported quality and safety performance and escalate significant concerns to program leadership.
  • Maintain daily reports, punch lists, deviation logs, turnover documentation, and photographic records.
  • Provide timely and accurate written reporting to support project decision-making.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
