Cloudera is seeking a customer-facing, hands-on Senior Field Specialist - Data Platform to join our team in the UK. In this pivotal role, you'll leverage your deep technical expertise to empower our customers, influence product direction, and drive success across our most impactful use cases. What You'll Bring (Qualifications)

  • Proven experience leading and implementing mission-critical data use cases in industries such as Financial Services, Retail, Healthcare, Public Sector etc.
  • Proven experience in designing, building, and deploying enterprise-grade platforms using technologies such as kubernetes, on premises object stores and distributed systems.
  • Hands-on expertise with leading platform technologies like kubernetes, Red Hat OpenShift, Openstack, Ceph, Apache Ozone etc.
  • Strong background in architecting production data platform deployments, considering infrastructure, security, and networking in complex enterprise environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to run Proofs of Concept (PoCs) and MVPs that lead to successful production deployments.
  • Practical experience in designing and implementing data intensive use cases at an enterprise level, including security and governance challenges.
  • Exceptional presentation skills, comfortable engaging with diverse audiences from engineers to senior executives.
  • Ability to analyse customer workloads and define technical migration roadmaps tailored to their specific needs.

As a Field Specialist - Data Platform, You Will

  • Lead customer engagements by designing and presenting data platform solution architectures and business outcomes to technical and executive stakeholders.
  • Provide deep platform expertise throughout the sales cycle, supporting PoCs, solution sizing, and adoption for new and existing customers (especially EMEA-specific use cases and scenarios).
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, providing guidance and leading escalations to ensure customer success.
  • Drive internal and external technical enablement by exploring new technologies, developing educational materials, and sharing best practices.
  • Influence product roadmap by translating customer feedback and EMEA-specific requirements into actionable insights for our product and engineering teams.
  • Act as a Cloudera evangelist, participating in community activities, speaking at events, and contributing to knowledge sharing.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams (Sales, Product, Engineering) to align on customer success and product vision.

You'll Be Well-Positioned for Success If You Bring (Bonus Qualifications):

  • Prior experience in pre-sales or technical consulting roles with a strong focus on big data & AI platform solutions.
  • Direct experience with deployment of Red Hat OpenStack platform and kubernetes (Red Hat OpenShift) and advising customers/partners integration on technical solutions
  • Experience with automation technologies, especially Red Hat Ansible Automation
  • Experience with, and interest in, open-source software and development practices
  • Familiarity with Cloudera's AI and data platform components (e.g., Cloudera AI/CML, CDP Data Services, SDX).
  • Relevant technical platform certifications (e.g. CKA).
  • Working knowledge of the open-source data and AI ecosystem (e.g., Apache Spark, Airflow, Impala).
  • Exposure to GPU-accelerated computing for deep learning and generative AI applications.
