Senior Finance Analyst – Financial Control – Civil Aerospace

Location: Derby

Type: Full time - 12 month Secondment

Position Summary

This is a high-profile opportunity to join the Civil Aerospace Financial Control team, at the heart of one of Rolls-Royce’s most complex and strategically important businesses. In this role, you will help protect the integrity of Civil Aerospace financial reporting, deliver insight that supports confident decision-making, and work closely with engine programme finance teams, senior stakeholders and audit partners across the business.

You will gain broad exposure to monthly actuals, budgets, forecasts, balance sheet assurance, controls and process improvement, giving you the opportunity to deepen your technical finance capability, strengthen your commercial understanding and build confidence in influencing across a broad stakeholder group. For a finance professional who enjoys challenge, visibility and continuous improvement, this role offers a strong platform to broaden experience, raise your profile, develop leadership potential and make a visible contribution to a high-performing finance function.

What you will be doing:

  • Play a key role in delivering monthly actuals, turning performance against budget/forecast into clear insight for stakeholders driving tangible actions.
  • Partner with engine programme finance teams to shape robust budgets and forecasts that reflect business performance and support confident decisions.
  • Help safeguard the integrity of Civil Aerospace results through strong controls, clear documentation and timely resolution of issues.
  • Challenge how things are done, identifying opportunities to improve processes and enhance the quality, pace and value of financial information.
  • Take ownership of key audit and internal reporting deliverables, building credibility through high-quality outputs delivered right first time.

Position qualifications:

  • Appropriate professional financial qualification and ability to apply knowledge
  • Working knowledge of SAP, HFM, OHP
  • Understanding of complex technical accounting

Preferred requirements:

  • Experience of managing complex processes
  • Ability to manage internal and external relationships
  • Understanding and communication of key business analysis and insight
  • Actively identify and enact core business process improvement
