About the role
Reporting to the Senior FP&A Finance Manager, the Senior FP&A Analyst supports IAG Cargo's planning, forecasting, reporting and performance management activities. The role is responsible for coordinating month-end reporting and financial planning cycles, consolidating budgets, forecasts and management accounts across IAG Cargo and its operating companies, and delivering insightful analysis of financial and operational performance.
Working closely with Finance Business Partners, Operating Company finance teams and Group Finance, the role provides executive-level reporting, financial commentary and performance insights to support the CFO, Executive Team, Board and IAG Group. The position plays a key role in identifying and tracking business risks and opportunities, challenging assumptions, supporting strategic initiatives, and translating complex data into clear, actionable recommendations.
The role also supports profitability analysis, investment appraisals and continuous improvement initiatives, leveraging reporting tools such as Anaplan, Tableau and Think-cell to enhance forecasting, reporting and decision-making.
This is a high-profile position offering significant exposure to senior stakeholders and the opportunity to influence business performance through robust financial analysis, business partnering and process improvement.
What you’ll do
Financial Planning & Forecasting
- Support the coordination, consolidation and submission of all financial planning cycles, including Reforecasts (RFs), Financial Plan (FP) and Business Plan (BP).
- Consolidate budgets, forecasts and management accounts across IAG Cargo, British Airways, Iberia, Aer Lingus and IAG Cargo Limited.
- Maintain forecasting models, challenge assumptions and ensure timely, accurate forecasting submissions.
- Coordinate planning timetables and support delivery of key milestones and reporting deadlines.

Performance Reporting & Analysis
- Lead the month-end process and produce monthly, quarterly and ad hoc management reporting, providing insightful analysis of business performance against budget, forecast and prior year.
- Analyse P&L performance, identifying key drivers of revenue, costs, margins and profitability, and delivering meaningful variance analysis and KPI commentary.
- Support the production of executive reporting packs, highlighting financial performance, risks and opportunities.
- Deliver financial and operational analysis across areas including revenue, capacity, yield, margins, cost performance and profitability.
- Develop and maintain reporting dashboards and management information to support decision-making.
Executive & Board Reporting
- Support the preparation of finance content for Executive Committee, Board, CFO and Group reporting.
- Produce concise and commercially focused commentary on business performance, key drivers and emerging trends.
- Assist in the development of presentations and reporting materials for senior leadership and Group stakeholders.
Business Partnering & Stakeholder Management
- Partner with Finance Business Partners and operational teams to provide financial insight, challenge assumptions and support business decision-making.
- Build strong relationships across IAG Cargo, Operating Company finance teams and IAG Group Finance to ensure alignment on planning assumptions and performance reporting.
- Present analysis and findings to stakeholders, helping translate data into actionable insights.
Systems, Reporting & Governance
- Act as a key user of Anaplan, supporting planning, forecasting and reporting processes while driving continuous system improvements.
- Utilise reporting and visualisation tools, including Tableau and Think-cell, to deliver clear and impactful management information.
- Ensure compliance with Group reporting requirements, IFRS, UK GAAP and internal financial governance policies.
- Support monthly and quarterly financial reporting and accounting processes as required.
Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve planning, forecasting and reporting processes, enhancing efficiency, accuracy and insight.
- Analyse cost performance and identify opportunities to reduce waste, improve efficiency and support smart spending initiatives.
- Support the development of new reporting tools, dashboards and best-practice finance processes.
- Contribute to cross-functional projects and ad hoc analysis to support strategic and operational business objectives.

Essential Experience
- Accounting background, including reporting and financial analysis
- Good understanding of finance theory and good level of practical finance experience in technical group accounting
- Business awareness and commercial acumen developed through the application of finance knowledge and experience
- Commercial aptitude to external global threats and how these can impact a business or industry such as this
- Supporting and writing business cases
- Numerate and accurate
- Excellent skills in Excel, Word and PowerPoint
Desirable Experience
- To be conversational in another language e.g. Spanish
- Experience in finance systems preferably including Thinkcell, Anaplan, Tableau, Business Objects
