About the Role
At M&S, we're transforming our Fashion, Home & Beauty business to become a bigger, more profitable and truly omnichannel retailer. With ambitious plans to grow online sales and modernise our operations, our Supply Chain & Logistics team is at the heart of that transformation.
We're looking for a commercially minded Senior Finance Analyst to join our Supply Chain Transformation Finance team. In this role, you'll partner with senior stakeholders across Logistics, Transformation and Finance to evaluate major investment opportunities, challenge assumptions, build compelling business cases and ensure transformative projects deliver sustainable value for the business. You'll play a key role in shaping decisions around warehouse automation, transport networks, technology investment and future supply chain operating models.
To stay close to customers, our support teams are in the office three days a week as we believe that skills are developed through collaboration, and that spending time together makes us more creative and connected.
What you'll be doing
- Supporting the financial evaluation of major supply chain investments across warehouse capacity, automation, technology, transport, returns and future network design.
- Building and maintaining robust financial models and business cases, analysing capex, operating costs, cash flow, benefits and investment performance.
- Delivering investment appraisal analysis including NPV, IRR, payback and sensitivity modelling to support strategic decision-making and capital prioritisation.
- Partnering with cross-functional teams to challenge costs, benefits, risks and timelines, ensuring investment cases are robust and evidence based.
- Tracking delivery of project benefits, driving continuous improvement initiatives and helping ensure transformational investments generate measurable financial outcomes.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
