Flexible Working

This appointment offers an exciting opportunity to join the University Finance Office, working as part of the team that delivers services within Warwick Medical School (WMS).
This role plays a key part in the financial management of WMS, working across the breadth of financial operations and management accounting.
About You
We are seeking to appoint a Senior Finance Assistant to manage the day to day financial transactions of the School and provide assistance to the WMS finance team. You will be currently working in or have recent experience within a finance department and you will be Accounting Technician (AAT) qualified or part qualified chartered accountant (CIMA, CIPFA, ACCA, ACA) or have equivalent relevant experience.
You will need to bring good IT skills to the role, particularly spreadsheet skills, and you must be experienced in using accounting software. To succeed in the role you will also need to be a great communicator and able to work effectively with colleagues across the School. You will need to be able to prioritise your workload to meet deadlines whilst maintaining accuracy and good attention to detail. Whilst you will be working within a supportive team environment, you must also be able to work independently.

The WMS finance team is part of the wider University Finance Office. The University Finance office supports business planning and innovation to maximise the financial resources available to the University and create the long-term sustainable financial platform required for future growth. Finance staff across the University are networked as a professional community of expertise. The role is campus based however staff can opt to work under the Finance Office’s current hybrid policy where a maximum of 40% of time (2 days per week for full time staff; normally Tuesdays and Fridays) can be worked remotely. This is subject to review and operational requirements. Whilst in the induction phase you’ll be required to work 100% in the office. Further details are available on request or at interview stage.
