If you lead a team, you will enable rapid growth and identify areas for development. You’ll remain responsible but delegate responsibility and foster empowered thinking within a controlled framework / guiding set of principles.
Your key outcomes will be:
Partnering

Connecting with the Forecast & Planning, People & Procurement teams for full, well rounded reviews. Advising the business on course correction if actual costs stray from budget, including working with the OVO leadership team to devise plans to converge back to budget.
- Lead the Monthly Business Review (MBR) process, presenting financial performance, outlooks, and strategic recommendations to the C-suite and LT.
- Support the C-suite and LT in tracking and aligning their financial outlooks against OKRs, ensuring operational delivery remains financially viable.
- Working collaboratively with senior business leaders to prepare analysis to support and constructively challenge financial decision making. This is both as requested by the business, and also ad hoc where the business partnering team spots potential opportunities.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
