We are working with a leading specialty insurer to recruit a Senior Finance Business Partner to join their London-based team.
This is a highly visible and strategic role within the finance function, offering the opportunity to partner with senior leadership and play a key role in driving financial performance and shaping business strategy.
The Role
As a Senior Finance Business Partner, you will act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders across underwriting, claims, and operational teams. You will provide forward-looking financial insight, challenge decision-making, and ensure financial considerations are embedded in key business decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with senior stakeholders to influence and shape strategic decisions
- Lead financial planning processes including budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning
- Deliver insightful analysis across key insurance performance metrics such as combined ratio, loss ratio, and expense ratio
- Provide deep-dive profitability analysis across products, geographies, and distribution channels
- Support business cases, investment decisions, and M&A activity with robust financial modelling
- Collaborate closely with actuarial teams on pricing, reserving, and capital considerations
- Drive performance review processes, including Board-level reporting
- Ensure strong financial governance, controls, and regulatory compliance
- Lead transformation initiatives to improve reporting, data quality, and decision-making

About You

- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
- Must have experience working within the insurance industry
- Ideally from a broker or carrier background
- Proven experience in finance business partnering within insurance or financial services
- Strong understanding of insurance financials, including underwriting cycles, claims, reserving, and capital requirements
- Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive strategic outcomes
- Advanced financial modelling and analytical skills
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to translate financial data into business insight
- Experience leading teams and developing talent
