As a Senior Commercial Finance Business Partner for our Renewable Energy business, you will play a pivotal role in shaping financial performance and driving commercial value. This is a high‑impact, strategic position responsible for significant operating expenditure, requiring strong commercial acumen, the confidence to challenge and influence, and the ability to provide clear, actionable insight that guides decision‑making at pace.
You’ll champion an “outperformance” culture, identifying sustainable efficiencies, holding teams accountable for financial delivery, and supporting the business with exceptional insight and leadership. Your contribution will be central to both current-year performance and future AMP success.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead the development and delivery of plans that outperform budget and business targets across PBIT, TOTEX and ODIs.
- Act as the Finance Director for the Renewable Energy business, serving as a core member of the Operational Leadership Team and strategic partner to the Head of Renewable Energy.
- Provide robust challenge to budgets, forecasts, and existing practices to drive continuous improvement and operational efficiency.
- Produce accurate in‑month forecasts and insightful analysis to enable teams to take corrective action and deliver against annual and AMP commitments.
- Deliver clear, timely reporting on monthly, annual and AMP performance, covering both financial and operational outputs.
- Take personal ownership for addressing under‑performance and supporting teams with effective, targeted actions.
- Identify key financial risks and opportunities, ensuring plans are in place to mitigate or capitalise on them.
- Lead, inspire, and develop a high-performing finance team that supports operational leaders with value-led decision-making and strong financial control.
- Provide the CFO, Ops Director and Head of Operations Finance with well‑considered insight into cost drivers, helping to shape future financial and operational strategy.
- Prepare and present high‑quality reports to strategic leadership forums, Sub Area Boards and other governance groups.

HOW WE WORK
You'll be based at our Severn Trent Centre in Coventry. With this being such a critical role, we’re looking for someone who can join us 37 hours a week.

So, you'll usually find us in the office, but working from home is supported, when you need it.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
To thrive in this role, you will bring:
- Senior‑level finance experience in a fast-paced, commercial and competitive environment.
- A strong track record of delivering high-level financial performance.
- Experience engaging and influencing Executive and Senior Management teams.
- Proven ability to deliver outperformance against challenging efficiency and performance targets.
- Experience partnering senior stakeholders, constructively challenging delivery and driving accountability.
- Strong capability in building, evaluating, and challenging business cases, including investment analysis (NPV, IRR, Payback).
- A collaborative working style and a track record of successfully partnering across multiple business areas.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages for different audiences.

Qualifications
- A recognised financial or accountancy qualification (e.g., CIMA, ACCA, ACA).
