Exciting new opportunity as Senior Finance Business Partner within a highly successful mid-sized Hertfordshire based business.

Whilst managing a small team and reporting to the Head of Finance you will be the key Finance Business Partner to the cost centres, working closely with the Business Unit Heads to provide performance analysis, budgeting and forecasting and support commercial activities.

Acting as the link between the core Finance function and the various Cost Centres, you and your team's activities will include:

  • Act as the lead finance partner to the Heads of Department, building strong relationships and providing proactive financial support.
  • Support strategic projects and business initiatives through financial modelling and business case development.
  • Provide insightful financial analysis and constructive challenge to support effective business decision-making.
  • Present financial performance, recommendations, and action plans to senior stakeholders.
  • Support the Heads of Department in preparing and agreeing their annual budgets and quarterly forecasts.
  • Challenge assumptions and key cost drivers with budget holders.
  • Improve forecast accuracy and planning processes.
  • Support long-term financial planning and strategic decision-making.
  • Own the monthly management accounts process for the entities, ensuring accurate, timely, and insightful reporting to senior management and the Group.
  • Ensure balance sheet integrity through regular reviews, reconciliations, and appropriate control procedures.
  • Support annual statutory accounts preparation and external audit processes.
  • Drive continuous improvements in financial reporting processes and controls.
  • Develop and maintain meaningful KPIs, dashboards, and management information.
  • Analyse financial and operational performance to identify trends, risks, opportunities, and improvement actions.
  • Support the development of reporting capabilities and management information.
  • Maintain fixed asset accounting, including acquisitions, disposals, depreciation, and reconciliations.
