Senior Finance Business Partner - Financial Reporting - Wirral - £65,000 + Benefits

Are you a senior finance professional who enjoys leading people, owning the numbers and getting out into the organisation to make a difference?

We are looking for a Senior Finance Business Partner - Financial Reporting to take a key leadership role within a purpose-led organisation. This is a broad position combining financial reporting and control with team leadership and genuine operational business partnering.

You will lead the Financial Reporting, Payroll and Transactional Finance teams, developing and supporting your people whilst ensuring Finance delivers an excellent service across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, manage and develop a high-performing finance team.
  • Own the monthly management accounts and Board financial reporting.
  • Lead annual budgeting, forecasting and financial planning.
  • Take responsibility for statutory accounts and the external audit, acting as the principal contact for auditors.
  • Oversee payroll for approximately 950 employees, alongside purchase ledger and expenditure.
  • Ensure strong financial controls, governance and balance sheet management.
  • Drive improvements to finance systems, processes, reporting and automation.
  • Safeguard and oversee funds held on behalf of people supported by the organisation.
  • Work closely with operational managers and senior leaders to improve financial understanding, accountability and performance.

We are looking for a qualified accountant with strong financial reporting, audit and management experience who is equally comfortable developing a team and influencing non-finance colleagues. You will be proactive, visible and relationship-focused, with the ability to turn financial information into meaningful insight and help make Finance a true business partner across the organisation.
