About the role…
The Senior Finance Business Partner, Hub Operations is a key finance partner to the operational leadership teams across IAG Cargo’s major hubs.
The role provides high-quality financial insight, constructive challenge and clear recommendations to improve operational and financial performance. It supports the business in delivering its financial, productivity and service objectives, while ensuring strong financial control, effective governance and clear accountability for performance.
Working closely with senior operational stakeholders, the role will lead planning, forecasting and performance reporting for Hub Operations. It will translate operational activity and service performance into financial outcomes, identify opportunities to improve productivity and contribution, and support the development and delivery of investment cases, transformation programmes and third-party handling initiatives.
The role will also lead and develop the Hub Operations finance team, embedding consistent processes, stronger analytical capabilities and effective collaboration across Finance and Operations.
What you’ll do…
- Act as the lead finance business partner for Hub Operations, providing financial insight, challenge and support to senior operational leaders.
- Lead budgeting, forecasting and long-range planning processes for Hub Operations.
- Deliver clear and timely financial reporting, highlighting performance drivers, risks and opportunities.
- Translate operational activity, productivity and service performance into financial outcomes and actionable recommendations.
- Drive cost control, operational efficiency and productivity improvement across the hub network.
- Support the development, appraisal and governance of investment proposals, business cases and transformation initiatives.
- Track delivery of approved benefits and ensure investments achieve their expected financial outcomes.
- Provide financial leadership and support for third-party handling arrangements, supplier negotiations and operational sourcing decisions.
- Ensure robust financial control, governance and compliance across operational cost areas, including accruals and balance sheet management.
- Partner with Operations, Procurement, Commercial and other stakeholders to evaluate strategic opportunities and manage business risks.
- Develop meaningful operational and financial KPIs that support performance management and decision-making.
- Identify opportunities to simplify, standardise and automate financial processes and reporting.
- Lead, coach and develop team members, fostering a high-performance, collaborative culture.
- Build strong relationships across the business and act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders.

To apply, candidates must:
- Hold a recognised professional accounting qualification, such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA or an equivalent qualification.
- Have strong practical experience in management accounting, financial planning and business partnering.
- Demonstrate a track record of partnering with operational or organisationally complex business areas.
- Have experience of interpreting operational drivers and connecting them to financial performance.
- Be able to develop and critically assess business cases, investment proposals and financial models.
- Demonstrate strong financial-control awareness and attention to detail.
- Possess strong Excel and financial-systems capability, with experience producing high-quality management information.
- Have experience of influencing senior stakeholders and communicating financial messages to non-finance audiences.
- Have line management or coaching experience.
