We have a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Finance Business Partner to develop and deliver the financial plans for Cheltenham racecourse with the Cheltenham CEO and local racecourse team.

The Senior Finance Business Partner will
- Act as a business partner and strong influencer to the racecourse General Manager and budget holders to ensure budgets are achieved/exceeded.
- Provide insightful analysis on a regular basis to drive action which will either address issues or identify opportunities for both income growth and cost reduction.
- Hold regular budget holder meetings with budget holders to review spend to date and forecast future spend.
- Contribute to the preparation of business cases for investment in racecourse infrastructure and customer experience improvements as necessary. Conduct pre and post investment analysis.
- Lead performance reviews to ensure understanding of the drivers of business performance and KPIs, including the impact of specific sales and marketing plans on weekly/monthly trading performance.
- Prepare short- and long-term financial plans that align with the racecourse’s business strategy, from 5-year plans to detailed budgets and forecasts.
- Develop an area of expertise related to a key area of the business on behalf of the wider Racecourse Finance team.
- Constantly look for areas where we can improve analysis, processes, and reporting.
- Prepare monthly management accounts including reconciliations for balance sheets and between systems.
- Support the local team with key business processes to ensure accuracy of costs at source.

About you
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
- Proven experience in the production of monthly management accounts and balance sheet reconciliations with a thorough understanding of management information systems.
- Confident communicator with experience business partnering with commercial or operational teams to deliver business objectives.
- Skilled in the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
- Analytical with strong commercial acumen and a good understanding of the drivers of business performance and KPIs.
- Collaborative and able to successfully communicate with people at all levels, both financial and non-financial.
- Industry experience in hospitality, leisure, events or sport is a bonus.
- Advanced Excel skills: NetSuite and Power Bi experience is an advantage.
