The Opportunity
A market-leading global e-commerce and digital tech brand is seeking a Senior Finance Process Specialist for an immediate fixed-term engagement in Manchester. You will act as the driving force behind a major new business integration, taking ownership of the interim accounting processes ahead of full system automation.
This is a high-impact, hands-on role where you will design and embed practical financial controls, map out intercompany recharges, and ensure day-one readiness for a complex, multi-entity corporate restructuring.
Key Responsibilities
- Process & Control Design: Assess the current landscape, identify control gaps, and map out pragmatic, manual operating processes for a seamless interim go-live.
- Intercompany & Segment Accounting: Navigate multi-entity structures to define intercompany accounting frameworks, segment reporting implications, and period-end adjustments.
- Reconciliation Ownership: Establish clear end-to-end reconciliation requirements, including accountabilities, evidence standards, review cadences, and escalation routes.
- Audit-Ready Documentation: Produce high-quality, traceable process narratives, working templates, and control descriptions maintained to strict external audit standards.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner seamlessly across finance and operational departments to embed processes, unblock dependencies, and brief senior leadership on go-live readiness.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
