Citadel Source are delighted to be supporting a fast-growing construction business in recruiting a Senior Finance Manager. This is a key role within a high-performing finance team, helping to scale and professionalise the finance function during a period of rapid growth.

The Role

As the Senior Finance Manager reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, you will play a pivotal role in building a best-in-class finance function. You will own the monthly close, statutory reporting, cash management and core controls, while partnering closely with project and commercial teams. This is a true "build" role - shaping processes, systems and reporting as the business scales from c.£10m towards £50m+ turnover.

As a Senior Finance Manager, your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Partner with the Project Accountant and commercial teams on project cost reporting and CVRs
  • Lead the redesign of finance processes and introduce AI-driven automation to routine tasks
  • Opportunity to grow with a high-growth business, gain exposure to strategic projects, future international expansion and diversified group structures
  • Own the monthly management-accounts close, including accruals, prepayments, provisions and balance-sheet reconciliations
  • Prepare FRS 102 statutory accounts and lead the annual external audit relationship
  • Apply and maintain percentage-of-completion revenue recognition on long-term construction contracts
  • Strengthen the control environment and month-end governance
  • Produce cash-flow forecasts and manage payroll and working capital
  • Mentor the junior members of the finance team

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
