Senior Finance Manager | Fully Remote (UK) | salary range from £55,000-£65,000 (part-time and flexible arrangements considered), dependant upon experience.
FinFlare is a boutique, CFO-led advisory firm that embeds finance teams into early-stage and scaling technology businesses. We're not a traditional accountancy practice - we are our clients' finance function, sitting in their team meetings, attending their board meetings, and on the end of the phone before an investor call.
The role
You'll own a portfolio of 8-12 venture-backed tech clients end to end - management accounts, payroll, forecasting, board packs - and be the first person founders and boards call. You'll direct and coach members of our back-office delivery team, acting as the quality gate before anything reaches a client.
What you'll do
- Own client relationships: monthly/bi-monthly meetings, board attendance, proactive scope management
- Run the management accounts cycle: review, quality-assure, and deliver on time every month
- Direct and coach our back-office delivery team and junior staff, reviewing their output against FinFlare's standards
- Oversee payroll accuracy and compliance across your portfolio
- Own board and investor reporting timetables, including KPI and runway commentary
- Maintain live cash flow forecasts and financial models, flagging runway risk early
- Manage billing and fee recoverability across your portfolio

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
