Senior Finance Manager

London | Hybrid Working | PE-Backed Technology Business

A fast-growing, private equity-backed technology business is looking to appoint a Senior Finance Manager to join its Financial Control team. Operating across multiple entities and experiencing ongoing growth, the business is seeking a technically strong finance leader who can drive financial control, reporting excellence and governance across the organisation.

Reporting to the Financial Controller, this is a high-profile role with ownership of the monthly close process, statutory reporting, audit management and financial control activities. The position also offers the opportunity to contribute to process improvement, systems enhancement and broader finance transformation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the month-end, quarter-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Take ownership of management accounts, group reporting packs and performance analysis for senior stakeholders.
  • Review journals, accruals, prepayments and key accounting entries, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal controls.
  • Oversee balance sheet reconciliations, governance and review processes, ensuring issues are identified and resolved promptly.
  • Maintain a robust financial control environment and support compliance with relevant accounting and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead the preparation of statutory financial statements and manage the year-end external audit process.
  • Act as a key technical accounting contact, providing guidance on complex and non-routine transactions.
  • Drive continuous improvement across finance processes, controls and reporting systems.
  • Partner closely with FP&A and wider business stakeholders to provide meaningful financial insights.
  • Manage and develop a small team, fostering a high-performing and collaborative finance culture.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
