At M&S, we’re transforming our International business and creating exciting opportunities to drive profitable growth across our owned markets. As Senior Finance Manager, you'll play a key role in shaping financial strategy, influencing decisions at a senior level, and partnering with teams across multiple markets to maximise performance and deliver sustainable growth.

This is a highly visible commercial finance role where you'll combine strategic thinking, financial rigour and strong business partnering skills to create value across our International business. To stay close to customers, our support teams are in the office three days a week as we believe that skills are developed through collaboration, and that spending time together makes us more creative and connected.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Your key accountabilities will include:

  • Own the financial management of our Owned Markets, leading budgeting, forecasting, performance tracking, balance sheet management and financial controls to deliver revenue and profit targets.
  • Partner closely with market, commercial, supply chain, finance and compliance teams to drive profitable growth, support transformation initiatives and deliver actionable financial insight.
  • Develop robust financial models and performance analysis to assess opportunities, identify risks and influence key business decisions.
  • Produce weekly trade analysis and monthly and quarterly reporting, using data and analytics to improve performance and recommend corrective actions where required.
  • Support strategic growth projects, drive continuous improvement across financial processes and ensure compliance with group financial, regulatory and tax governance requirements.

WHO YOU ARE

Your skills and experience will include:

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with significant post-qualification experience, ideally within an international, retail or FMCG environment.
  • Strong commercial finance and business partnering experience, coupled with a solid understanding of financial control and governance.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insight.
  • A confident communicator who can influence stakeholders at all levels and build effective cross-functional relationships.
  • A forward-thinking and commercially minded finance leader with a continuous improvement mindset and the curiosity, courage and tenacity to challenge and drive change.
