Marc Daniels are recruiting for a Senior Finance Manager to join a high-profile organisation on an 18-month fixed-term contract.
This is a broad senior finance role combining technical accounting and external reporting with ownership of the wider financial control environment. The successful candidate will take a leading role across month-end, statutory reporting, audit and technical accounting, while managing and developing a small finance team.
It would suit an experienced Financial Controller, Senior Finance Manager or Financial Reporting Manager who combines strong technical knowledge with the ability to take ownership of a wider finance function.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee the month-end close, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting
- Take ownership of statutory accounts and the year-end reporting process
- Lead the external audit, acting as a key point of contact for auditors
- Provide technical accounting guidance across the business, including FRS 102 and complex accounting matters
- Maintain strong balance sheet control, reconciliations and financial governance
- Oversee financial reporting across multiple entities
- Review and challenge accounting treatments, judgements and reporting requirements
- Ensure appropriate financial controls, policies and processes are maintained
- Identify opportunities to strengthen and improve finance processes
- Work closely with senior finance and wider business stakeholders
- Lead, coach and develop a small team of finance professionals

The successful candidate will ideally be:
- ACA, ACCA or equivalent qualified
- Technically strong, with good knowledge of FRS 102 and UK statutory reporting
- Experienced in preparing and/or reviewing statutory accounts and managing external audits
- Comfortable taking ownership of a complete month-end and reporting cycle
- Experienced across balance sheet control, financial governance and accounting processes
- A proven people manager with the ability to develop and support a team
- Comfortable operating in a complex, fast-paced environment
- Able to combine attention to technical detail with a broader understanding of the finance function
