Senior Finance Manager (RES)

We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Senior Finance Manager (RES).

Global Finance FP&A leads forecasting, planning and strategic cost management across HSBC. You will act as the global Finance business partner for Real Estate Services, connecting regional Finance teams with the Global Head of Finance – Commercial Services and consolidating the function’s financial performance.

In this role you will:

  • Partner with senior Real Estate and Finance stakeholders across functions and regions.
  • Lead global RES planning and rolling forecasts, shaping assumptions, targets and delivery plans and escalating material issues.
  • Deliver Executive Committee-level analysis of performance, outlook, cost drivers, risks and opportunities.
  • Review and challenge financial analysis for major programmes, investments and business cases.
  • Drive cost discipline and delivery of RES savings and performance commitments.
  • Standardise regional finance processes and accounting treatment, strengthening control and consistency.
  • Develop GFOC capability and accountability through coaching, clear standards and knowledge transfer.
  • Improve the FP&A operating model through simplification, automation and change delivery, (e.g. early close).

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

  • Substantial FP&A experience in a complex global organisation, including ownership of planning and forecasting cycles.
  • Strong commercial judgement and experience supporting cost-sensitive operations, investments and major business cases.
  • Credibility to influence senior Finance and non-Finance stakeholders across geographies and operate effectively in a matrix.
  • Ability to explain complex financial and accounting matters clearly to non-Finance audiences.
  • Advanced analytical capability, defining effective MI and KPIs and distilling complex data into actionable insight.
  • Experience improving global processes, controls and operating models through simplification and change.
  • Demonstrated leadership of direct and matrix teams, with a focus on delivery, capability and accountability.
