Role Summary

The Senior Finance Manager supports the Director, Finance – North Europe in delivering strong financial governance, performance management, and operational finance leadership across the Regional Corporate entities in the UK & Nordics. Acting as a key deputy to the Director in the UK & Nordics, the role provides hands-on leadership to country finance teams, ensures compliance with internal and external requirements, and effective business partnering with multiple business units.

Essential Job Functions

  • Support and oversee the day-to-day finance and accounting operations for the Regional Corporate legal entities in the UK & Nordics. Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes. Supervise the activities of the accounting staff across AR, AP, GL.
  • Maintain internal control and effective accounting system and policies to ensure the proper, complete, and accurate record-keeping within the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) (US and UK).
  • Support the delivery and review of timely monthly financial reporting, including consolidated financial statements, payments, recharges to AMETEK affiliates, cash-flow management, and revenue recognition reporting for submission to AMETEK stakeholders.
  • Support the preparation of statutory financial statements and audit activities, including preparation or review of schedules and responses to audit queries.
  • Maintain SOX compliance across the entities.
  • Provide day-to-day coaching, guidance, and development to finance team members to ensure work is performed in an efficient, timely, and knowledgeable manner.
  • Build partnership relationships with Business Unit employees across Sales, Service, and Operations to support the business in achieving its growth objectives.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and efficiency, and support implementation of solutions.
  • Support the continued development and optimization of ERP systems, including any ERP implementation to meet the evolving needs of the business.
  • Support financial integration activities for acquisitions within the UK and Nordics entities.
  • Work on special projects as needed.

  • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US and UK)
  • Proven track record as a Finance Manager
  • Strong IT skills including demonstrable experience in the effective use of AI in finance
  • Demonstrated people leadership and team coordination skills and be able to function in a supervisory role
  • Must have excellent accounting skills and be able to prioritize effectively
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills – must enjoy engaging with stakeholders at all levels
  • Continuous improvement mindset
  • Good problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Ability to function as a team player
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to manage multiple conflicting priorities
  • Knowledge of contract and company law, SOX principles and reporting

Education and Experience

  • Chartered Accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) required.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance is required (Master’s Degree desirable).
  • Minimum 5 years accounting experience
