Senior Finance Officer

The City of London Corporation is seeking a Senior Finance Officer to join its Financial Services Division on a 9-month fixed-term contract. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the delivery of high-quality financial services, supporting key stakeholders across the organisation while helping to drive effective financial management and decision-making.
9-Month Fixed-Term Contract
Salary - £38,080 - £49,140 per annum Hybrid Working – 3 Days per Week in the Office Guildhall, London (closest to Bank Station)
The Role
Working as part of a collaborative finance team, you will support a wide range of financial management, reporting and compliance activities, ensuring the organisation maintains strong financial control and delivers value for money.

Key responsibilities will include:
- Supporting budget monitoring, forecasting and financial analysis activities.
- Preparing financial reports and assisting with financial planning processes.
- Managing a range of financial administration activities, including invoices, payments, journals, reconciliations and budget adjustments.
- Assisting with year-end accounts and statutory reporting requirements.
- Maintaining financial records and ensuring compliance with regulations, policies and accounting standards.
- Supporting budget holders and stakeholders with financial advice and guidance.
- Contributing to audit responses, risk management activities and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Assisting with the development of financial models, reporting tools and process improvements.
About You
We're looking for a proactive and customer-focused finance professional who can build strong working relationships and communicate financial information clearly to both finance and non-finance audiences.

You will ideally have:
- AAT Level 3 (minimum) or be working towards an equivalent accounting qualification.
- Experience working within a finance, accounting or financial services environment.
- Knowledge of financial controls, accounting principles and reporting processes.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Strong IT skills, including Excel and financial systems.
- Experience producing accurate financial information and management reports.
