Role Title: Senior Finance Officer

Type: Permanent – Full-time 37 hours per week

Salary: £36,508 to £40,958 per annum

Office Presence: Full-time on-site

Location: Slough

Sellick Partnership are working with a leading education organisation who are seeking an experienced Senior Finance Officer to join their central finance function. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified or part-qualified finance professional to support effective financial management across the organisation.

Working closely with senior finance colleagues and budget holders, the successful candidate will provide accurate financial information, support effective budget management and help ensure resources are used efficiently.

  • Supporting budget monitoring and providing financial information to budget holders and senior management.
  • Assisting with the annual budget setting and year-end accounts processes.
  • Monitoring income and expenditure to ensure financial activity is accurately recorded and managed.
  • Supporting procurement activity, payroll monitoring and Special Educational Needs budget management.
  • Providing operational support to the wider finance team, including supplier invoice processing and maintaining effective financial processes.

The ideal candidate for the Senior Finance Officer role will have:

  • A recognised accountancy qualification or be actively working towards one, such as AAT, ACCA, CIMA or CIPFA.
  • Previous experience within a finance function, gained within an education or multi-academy trust environment.
  • Strong experience of budget monitoring, financial reporting and supporting year-end processes.
  • Good knowledge of transactional finance, financial controls and accounting systems.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to work effectively with both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
