Job Title
The role provides senior technical accounting expertise across statutory reporting, audit, compliance and internal controls, while working closely with the wider business to strengthen financial reporting and governance. A key focus will be on driving continuous improvement, improving processes and ensuring the finance function operates with a high level of accuracy, efficiency and control.

Description
- Lead the month-end and year-end financial reporting processes, ensuring accurate, timely and audit-ready reporting.
- Own balance sheet integrity, reconciliations and the resolution of financial reporting issues.
- Lead the preparation of statutory accounts and manage the external audit process through to completion.
- Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, internal controls, SOX requirements and wider governance frameworks.
- Identify financial and operational risks, implementing appropriate controls and improvements where required.
- Prepare and oversee external and regulatory reporting, including statutory filings.
- Work closely with shared services, tax, payroll and wider finance teams to ensure a smooth and effective reporting process.
- Drive continuous improvement across accounting, reporting and finance processes, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy and controls.
- Undertake credit risk analysis and due diligence to support working capital and business decisions.
- Act as a senior Finance Business Partner, providing financial insight, challenge and support to key stakeholders.
- Support and develop the Assistant Financial Accountant, providing mentoring, guidance and technical expertise.
- Represent Financial Accounting on cross-functional projects, providing subject matter expertise on complex accounting matters.
- Provide leadership and cover for the wider Financial Accounting function when required.

A successful Senior Financial Accountant should have:
- A professional accounting qualification such as ACA, ACCA or CIMA.
- Strong technical accounting knowledge, including relevant standards and regulations.
- Proficiency in financial reporting and analysis.
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
