Senior Financial Accountant | £70K | Temp to Perm | ASAP Start
Looking for a Senior Financial Accountant to join a global events and marketing agency to be responsible for the UK accounts, reporting into the US finance team. This role is an initial 6-month contract, with the view to going permanent.
This is a broad, hands-on role covering end-to-end accounts and responsible for the day-to-day financial operations of the UK business, with responsibility across financial accounting, compliance, reporting, and controls.
You must have experience working in a media agency environment or within the events industry for this role.

Key Responsibilities:
- Managing the day-to-day UK finance operations
- Full ownership of VAT, corporation tax, payroll compliance, and statutory reporting
- Managing AR, client billing, and debt collection
- Overseeing AP and supplier payments
- Supporting payroll and client accounting
- Leading month-end processes, including COGS accruals and reconciliations
- Supporting group accounting and revenue reporting
- Preparing accounts under FRS 102 / UK GAAP
- Supporting audit and maintaining strong financial controls
- Identifying opportunities to improve finance processes and efficiency
Experience and Skills Required:
- Strong financial accounting experience in an agency environment or within events
- ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified or equivalent
- Experience across month-end, statutory accounts, audit, and compliance
- Good knowledge of UK GAAP / FRS 102
- Strong AP, AR, and cash flow experience
- A hands-on approach and ability to take ownership
- Good stakeholder management and communication skills
- US GAAP experience is a bonus, but not essential
