Senior Financial Accountant (6 month FTC) – Preston (3 days in the office / 2 at home) – to £58,225 + Benefits

Our client is a large and highly acclaimed organisation based in Preston and we are seeking a Senior Financial Accountant for a 6 month FTC to support in the preparation and production of the financial statements and the audit.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Prepare statutory financial statements, supporting working papers and audit information.
  • Review draft accounts, disclosures and supporting narratives as required.
  • Provide guidance and training to the finance team on year-end statutory and regulatory requirements, including IFRS.
  • Support the preparation of VAT returns and other tax-related work, liaising with external tax specialists.
  • Work with tax advisers on the development and implementation of the VAT special method, providing reports and reviewing information.
  • Provide ERP reports and supporting information for the calculation of Corporation Tax provisions.
  • Assist with Corporation Tax queries and the preparation of Gift Aid calculations.
  • Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring balances are appropriately supported and evidenced.
  • Support new initiatives, including partner due diligence and Tax Risk Assessments.
  • Contribute to improvements that enhance the student experience.
  • Undertake other duties appropriate to the level of the role.
