Senior Financial Accountant – German Finance
9–12 Month Interim Contract
£450–£600 per day | Inside IR35
Remote Working – Travel to Brighton Area c. Once Per Month
We're supporting a large international technology and manufacturing business that is looking to appoint an experienced German-speaking Lead Accountant on a 9–12 month interim contract. This role has specific responsibility for the business's German entities, so we're looking for someone who is fluent in German and English and has strong, practical knowledge of German GAAP / HGB. These are essential requirements for the position.
You'll take ownership across German statutory accounting, tax, audit and financial reporting, acting as a key link between the German operations and the wider international finance function.
The Role
Reporting into the senior finance team, you'll have responsibility for ensuring the German entities remain compliant with HGB, German statutory reporting and local tax requirements.
You'll oversee the preparation and accuracy of local financial statements, manage the bridge between US GAAP and German GAAP, coordinate external audits and ensure statutory and tax filings are delivered accurately and on time.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
