Senior Financial Accountant (Fixed Term Contract for 6 Months, Full Time)
We’re looking for a qualified accountant to join our Finance team, taking ownership of statutory reporting, treasury operations, and taxation activities across the KCOM Group. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, supporting business decision-making, and maintaining compliance with regulatory and banking requirements.
Working closely with stakeholders across the business and external partners, you’ll be responsible for coordinating the production of consolidated statutory accounts, managing technical accounting matters, and supporting continuous improvement and automation within the finance function.
Salary:
Up to £70,000 per annum dependant on experience plus companies’ bonus
Location:
Carr Lane, Hull, with hybrid working (minimum 2 office days per week)

Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate the preparation of consolidated statutory accounts and subsidiary financial statements with an outsourced provider.
- Lead and coordinate the annual external audit process.
- Provide support and guidance on technical accounting matters.
- Manage day-to-day treasury activities and oversee the submission of tax returns.
- Coordinate, maintain, and report on the 13-week cash flow forecast.
- Calculate and post accounting entries relating to leases, pensions, and corporation tax.
- Develop, test, and implement automation solutions to improve financial reporting processes.
- Ensure compliance with banking covenants and support the delivery of reporting within challenging deadlines.
- Manage and resolve complex reporting and taxation issues.

Candidate Requirements
To be successful in this role, you'll be a qualified accountant with strong technical accounting knowledge and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
You Will Also Have
- A recognised accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience producing statutory accounts and working with external auditors.
- Knowledge of treasury operations, taxation, and financial reporting requirements.
- The confidence to challenge existing processes and identify opportunities for improvement.
- A collaborative approach and the ability to build effective working relationships across a variety of teams.
- A positive attitude towards change and continuous improvement.
- The ability to quickly adapt, work independently, and take ownership of key deliverables.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
