SRM are proud to be recruiting for a Senior Financial Accountant

SRM are proud to be recruiting for a Senior Financial Accountant to join the finance team of a privately owned, mixed-use commercial real estate group in London. This is a business synonymous with quality, prestige and attention to detail in the developments they own and manage.

Our client operates a four (4) days in the week office working policy.

About the Role

This is a "classic" financial accounting role, with a focus on quarterly reporting centred around statutory and management financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial reporting and control:

    • Preparation of statutory financial statements, month-end and year-end close
    • Balance Sheet Reconciliation
    • Control compliance
    • Half yearly management accounts
  • Audit and Compliance:

    • Lead audit deliverables
    • Managing audit queries and ensuring statutory compliance
    • Preparation of statutory accounts
    • Prepare technical papers and assess complex accounting areas

  • System and Process Improvement:

    • Drive automation and efficiency improvements within finance systems
    • Participate in wider multi-team projects related to the improvement of finance processes
  • Financial Operations:

    • Maintain, monitor and reconcile cash books and bank accounts and other treasury management transactions
    • Ensure the business operates in compliance with taxes such as CIS and VAT
    • Provide guidance and help develop the Finance team

Requirements

To be considered you will be/have:

  • As detailed above, this role sits around the Manager equivalent within practice, but our client is targeting a candidate that is qualified (ACA, CA, ACCA or CIMA) with some embedded industry experience under their belt post practice
  • Our client is focused on, ideally, securing a candidate currently working in real estate and looking for a broader challenge, or a candidate that has some exposure to real estate/property clients within their time (and qualification) within practice.
  • Our client loves self starters, someone who can determine and work to their deadlines and operate within an environment where the individual can flourish
  • They are looking for someone driven to push forward continual improvement in the finance function.
