Distinct is supporting a fast-paced, multi-site PLC to recruit a Financial Accountant to join the Group Finance team and provide additional support through a busy year-end and audit period.

This is a contract until the end of Dec 26.

This is a broad, hands-on role requiring someone who can quickly get up to speed, take ownership of key deliverables, and see tasks through to completion. Working across year-end, financial reporting, and month-end activities, you will play an important role in relieving pressure across the existing finance team.

The successful individual will be a confident Financial Accountant with strong technical foundations, excellent problem-solving skills, and experience operating within a complex, fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of key year-end deliverables and support the external audit process
  • Lead the preparation and review of impairment models, including investment impairments
  • Own sub-ledger to Trial Balance reconciliations, including debtors and creditors
  • Lead and review balance sheet reconciliations, investigating and resolving issues
  • Support month-end close activities across the Group
  • Support the Group consolidation process and year-end financial reporting
  • Assist with the preparation of statutory accounts, including supporting notes and disclosures
  • Provide support with dilapidation accounting and associated calculations
  • Take ownership of issues and proactively drive them through to resolution
  • Work collaboratively with the wider finance team, providing additional capacity during a particularly busy reporting period

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
