We are seeking to recruit a Senior Financial Accountant to join our team. This is a hybrid role based in Kilkeel, requiring a minimum of 3 days per week onsite.
What You Will Do:
- Reporting to the Senior Finance Manager this is a key role within the finance function incorporating responsibility for local (UK) government, statutory & tax reporting.
- Act as the primary point of contact for both internal and external audit teams, along with our outsourced AP/AR teams.
- Have responsibility for the UK treasury function.

Key Responsibilities:
- Preparation of statutory accounts for UK entities under UK GAAP.
- Preparation of tax data to external auditors.
- Manage the treasury function for the UK including the preparation of multi-currency cash forecasts and hedging activities.
- Co-ordinate all site audits with both internal and external auditors.
- Manage and review our controls, working with both finance and non-finance teams, to ensure compliance.
- Complete monthly, quarterly and annual government returns including VAT returns.
- Provide coaching and support for other members of the finance team, particularly those who provide financial accounting data & reports.
- Complete the month end process for general accounting.
- Perform other related duties as required.

Essential Criteria:
- Qualified accountant (e.g. ACCA / CIMA / ACA)
- Minimum 5 years related / progressive experience in a finance related role.
- Proficiency in all MS Office applications with advanced knowledge of MS Excel.
- Substantial experience of UK statutory accounting, reporting and compliance requirements, with the ability to identify and resolve complex accounting issues.

Desirable Criteria:
- Working knowledge of SAP.
- UK Tax experience.
- Investment appraisal experience.
- Power BI experience.
- Previous experience in a UK audit practice, with a strong understanding of audit methodology and statutory financial statement preparation and review.
